The Book
A litany,
a recitation
of the books of the Bible
voices learning the long names,
the pronunciations, their order.
A Sunday school chant.
And I whisper to myself the same books
and the richness of what is written
in each one fills my heart.
I open a dusty volume and return to
"In the beginning---God"
