Sojourner
Walk lightly upon this soil,
the earthly moil.
Not a permanent home,
a sojourn
a period of time
a trace of feet
barely stirring the dust
Hold with an open hand
life, land, house
any possession.
Not yours to keep and carry,
you will marry
into an eternal family.
Your dowry’s paid.
Live, a hospitable guest.

Hi Darlene,
I'm here via The 3.1.6. journal. :)
I REALLY enjoyed your 2 poems you contributed. They're so rich with imagery! Walk As He Did especially struck me, as I just finished a Bible Study on the Sermon on the Mount (which includes a description of the wide and narrow paths). I think the two passages can shed lots of light on each other.
I hope to read more from you!
Thanks for stopping in, Erin. I just got my copy of 3.1.6 yesterday.
