Jack in the Pulpit
The Reverend Jack,
robed in lavender this season,
peeks surreptitiously
at the assembled congregation;
rises up in his green-draped pulpit
for a spring morning exhortation.
Viola
Shy, before the glory of the sun
I hang my violet head
my crown dipping to the ground
even with the thinnest blade of grass
my bloom a small spot of color
most un-noted, pass.

Oh I like these - especially the "congregation...exhortation"!
